Fundraising for Cardiff and Vale Health Charity

I decided to use my running to fundraiser in memory of my father. My father had kidney failure and battled with it for many years. During his battle, he undertook many operations and had his both legs amputated.

After his diagnosis my father was kindly cared for by Cardiff University Hospital and they saved his life on many occasions and they cared for him with great kindness and they was always on hand to help if needed.

All the staff on ward B5 at the University Hospital Cardiff, never gave up on my father and helped him up until the very end.  During the difficult times they treated myself and my family with such care and attention.

For all their hard work and commitment for tor the care of my father, I wanted to give back and decided to using my running to help fund raise in order for ward B5 to continue their exceptional work for other kidney suffers.

Did you know – Around 1 in every 8 people in the UK will develop Chronic Kidney Disease and every day 19 people in the UK will develop kidney failure, Furthermore around 30,000 people in the UK are currently on dialysis.
